War of cooks - Resepies

ESTONIA

KAMA

Food needed:
kama (about 2 teaspoons per glass).
keefir (one glass per person).
sugar (about 2 teaspoons per glass).

Equipment needed:
a glass and a spoon

How to make Estonian kama?
  1. Put about 2 teaspoons sugar into a glass.
  2. Put about 2 teaspoons kama powder into a glass.
  3. Then put the glass almost full of keefir.
  4. Mix it all together.
  5. And taste it - mmmmmmmmm
HEAD ISU!

EGGBUTTER

Food needed:
eggs (one egg per person).
butter (one big spoon per egg).
water.
salt.

Equipment needed:

Pot, bowl, spoon, stove, fork

How to make eggbutter?

  1. Take some water to a pot. Put eggs into the water.
  2. Put them on a stove to boil.
  3. Boil the eggs about 10 minutes until they get hard.
  4. After boiling the eggs afraid them with cold water (put the eggs into cold water, but not for long time, because egg should stay inside warm).
  5. Wrip the cover off and put the eggs into the bowl.
  6. Take a fork and mash the eggs in small pieces.
  7. Add butter and mix again.
  8. Taste it with salt.
You can eat eggbutter with white-bread or put it on the KILU-butterbrot.

BUTTERBREAD WITH KILU

Food needed:

Bread (in slices),
butter,
kilu (easiest way to use prepared fish).

Equipment needed:

Knife,
plate.

How to make butterbread with kilu?
  1. Take a slice of bread, put it on a plate.
  2. Take some butter and cover the slice of bread with it.
  3. Take a prepared kilu and put it onto the butterbread (you can also cut it before in smaller pieces).
  4. Onto the kilu put a slice of boiled egg or a eggbutter.
  5. Enjoy and HEAD ISU!

GERMANY
Potato salad with nince meat

Potato salad
You need:
- 10 potatos (for 10 persons)
- vinegar
- sugar
- one apple
- two onions
- two gherkin
- 4 hand cooced eggs
- salt and pepper
- majonaise

Boile 10 potatos for 20 minutes. Then they have to cool down before you can pell them. Put them in a dish. Now you take 5 tea spoons of vinegar and two tea spoons of sugar and put it in the dish. Next cut one apple and twon onions into pieces and put it in the dish and mix it al. Now you cut two gherkin into pieces. Mix it also into the dish. Then are four hard cooked eggs following. Put some salt and pepper in it - how much you like. Mix it up and wait 30 minutes. After that put four table spoons majonaise in it and mix it again.
Instead of majonaise you can also take some vinegar and oil. You can also taste the salat with some other incredians, for example tomatoes, cheese, corn or what ever you want to taste.

Mince meat balls
You need:
- 800 g mince meat (for five persons)
- two onions
- two eggs
- salt and pepper
- one roll (or toast)
- oil

Put the meat in a dish. Cut two onions into pieces and put it also into the dish. Put in there two (unboiled) eggs, two tea spoons of salt, some pepper and one roll as well. Mix it up with your hands and form balls out of it. Put some oil in a pan and fry the balls in it for some minutes from both sides until they are well done.

POLAND

The recipe for traditional polish soup „Żurek”

Ingrendients :

- 12 packets of żurek of company Winiary/Knorr
- 40 eggs
- 4 kg of slim sausages
- 3 soup spoons of marjoram
- salt, pepper


  1. Put eggs to another pot full of cold water. Since the moment of boiling , boil for 8 min. Then take off , peel and cut into halfs.
  2. In the other pot full of 2.l. of water add the contents of baggs “Żurek” into and mix it very precisely. Boil 6 l. water in big pot. Pour 2 l. of żurek into this big pot, mix carefully and still boil.
  3. Peel sausages, cut into small pieces, put into the big pot, mix and still boil.
  4. Add three soup spoons of marjoram, mix and boil for at least 5 min.
  5. Add half egg into soup bowls and pour delicious żurek soup :)
  6. Add salt and pepper as much as needed for obtaining a tasty soup.

FINLAND

Whipped Berry Pudding
Amount Measure
3 cups cranberry juice -- bottled or canned
6 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup uncooked cream-of-wheat

(A finnish dessert)
In a 1 1/2 to 2 quart saucepan, bring the cranberry juice to a boil over moderate heat. While the juice boils, sprinkle in the sugar, a little at a time, and then slowly add the Cream-of-Wheat, stirring briskly with a wooden spoon. Reduce the heat and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture becomes a thick puree.
With a rubber spatula, transfer the puree from the saucepan to a large mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer for the next step. (Although it is possible to make this pudding with a wire wick, it is scarcely practical; an hour of vigorous whisking might be required.)
Beat with the mixer set a high speed for 10 to 15 minutes, or until the pudding has tripled in volume, is a delicate pink colour and is very light and fluffy.
Poor into a large bowl, or individual dessert bowl, and keep no longer than a few hours before serving at room temperature.

Note: If you wish to make this dessert with a nontrade juice such as apple, strawberry or raspberry, add a tablespoon of lemon juice.

ICELAND

Egg's ala Iceland
5 eggs
5 tomatoes
2 paprika
some ham
1-2 dl ripped cheese
Pinch of Oregano
Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions
  1. Rinse tomatoes and paprika under cold water.
  2. Cut tomato's and paprika into small pieces. Leave one tomato for decoration.
  3. Break eggs into bowl and stir until well mixed.
  4. Cut ham into little pieces.
  5. Heat up frying pan with oil on it.
  6. Pour eggs into pan when hot and stir gently.
  7. Add tomatoes, paprika and ham.
  8. Spread cheese over the whole thing.
  9. Fry until well done and cheese has melted

ITALY

Ragu's sauce

Ingredients: miced meat, herbs, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, tomato sauce, pasta, a spoonful of oil, a pinch of salt.

Procedure: mince the vegetables, put them and the oil in a pan and brown them. When they are browned, add the minced meat and brown it too, adding half a glass of red wine. Then add the tomato sauce, the herbs, for example rosemary or basil, then cook them for about half an hour. After that take another pan, fill it with water and put it on the stove, when it has boiled put the pinch of salt and the pasta and cook it for five minutes. Then put the pasta in a colander and poor the water in the sink. Finally put the pasta in the pan where you have cooked the ragú stir them and serve them hot.

LATVIA

Potato pancakes
Igreadients:
3 kg potatoes
Approximately 0,4 kg flour (watch the texture of the mixture)
5 eggs
1 tablespoon salt
- Peel the potatoes and grate them
